Two sound areas
SoundFont management is where you add or choose the instrument bank. Sound settings control how the MIDI engine renders audio, including sample rate, polyphony, gain, buffer size, audio mode, chorus, and reverb. MIDI Output is available as a separate tab when you need an external MIDI device.
Recommended starting values
Start with defaults
Use the default quality profile before changing advanced audio values.
Lower quality for weaker devices
Reduce sample rate or choose a larger buffer when audio drops or the UI becomes slow.
Use effects carefully
Chorus and reverb change the character of the mix and can increase processing work.
Reload may interrupt playback
Reload may interrupt playback
Changing core synthesizer or MIDI output settings can require a reload. Make changes between songs when possible.
